Quirky Lands At Roe & Co Distillery!
I am DELIGHTED to finally announce that my Quirky magnets are all grown up and have made their way into Roe & Co’s shiny new (and very cool!!) distillery in Dublin 8. The owners of beloved Irish brand Guinness, Diageo, launched a lovely whiskey called Roe and Co in 2017. Following on from the massive popularity of the Guinness Storehouse they decided to open a whiskey distillery visitor experience so that the public and tourists can see how the magic happens!
The distillery is selling lots of gorgeous Irish and Dublin focused products so that their visitors can take a bit of the city home with them. That’s where I came in! Not only did they want my Moore Street, Poolbeg, Street Sign (James Street) and Great Outdoors designs, they also wanted me to make a custom magnet for the distillery.
The ‘Dublin In The Pear Auld Times’ magnet is inspired by a gorgeous ancient pear tree that sits on their grounds and still flowers to this day. It’s a proud part of their story so I brought it and the famous windmill tower into the design to make it special for them – see below...
All of this started last January when I met the lovely Alan from Diageo at Showcase Ireland. I’m lucky that people react really well to my ‘unique’!! designs and when someone from such a large organisation gets excited about them too it makes it all worth while. We worked together over the following months to pick the right products and develop their new design.
It all finally came together on the 21st June when they launched their fabulous distillery and Quirky is officially on display along all the other fantastic Dublin products. They will be opening a larger shop space very soon so we will be looking at larger amounts of Quirky magnets flying off the shelves and into thousands of suitcases heading across the world!
A very proud moment for this happy Irish Grandma :)
